Ok. Well, they're certainly not Asian anything. Lol. They really remind me of Black Copper Marans, without enough leakage but I think that should come in. Do you know if those were available there?

That's great! Are you planning on getting some more pullets and keeping all the boys?

We're definitely keeping the boys. We didn't buy them intentionally, but they're so gorgeous... other than them, we currently have 8 hens (three we raised, five we kinda inherited) and 7 pullets. We usually get 5-7 eggs a day, which is awesome because I have a big family, and we eat a lot of eggs.

I've never actually checked specific breeds at the store... I just get distracted by all the cute chicks! I know my mom wants to get more chicks (from a hatchery. she's obsessed with silkies and brahmas...), so I'll have to tell her to check out the black copper marans, and maybe we can get a couple more!

Where did you get it from? Do you know what options there are for breeds? It's too young, but we could try to narrow it down.

Lol, ok. That would be good! I think that's what you've got - best match, can't think of what else it could be.

Barred Rock Cockerel or Pullet? 3-4 months. Comb and waddle are larger and redder than other Pullet same age. This one is also slightly larger and just a tad lighter than other Pullet.

Cockerel.

Thanks for the info! They are 9 weeks old.
I think they are Australorp chickens. Especially after seeing the roosters streaks of colorful/shiny feathers. My sister-in-law has one, and yours look EXACTLY the same. I don't think they are silkies because silkies are super fluffy in a furry kind of way(I should know, I have one) and they have no feathers on their legs..... Yep! I'm POSITIVE they are Australorp!

I meant to say "silkies have feathers/fur all the way down their legs"
