The chickens were let out today, and I got more pictures of the mystery chicken (approx. 8 weeks old). The last picture shows it by a lavender ameraucauna to help judge size (about the same age, the ameraucauna may be 1 week older). The tail slopes downward and has dark feathers (like the back of the head) bracketing the other tail feathers. These darker feathers are about 1/2 inch longer then the rest of the tail feathers. Thanks.

I was reading that Roos have 3 rows on their comb and a pulley only has 1 if this is true I'm guessing she's a he lol Bc if I can get a good picture of her comb I'll post it but there is definitely a defined 3 rows haha

That's not true. Either gender can have any type of comb, but when they're young a cockerel's comb tends to be bigger and more red.

These two girls are my last two chickens i have yet to figure out. One is a barred rock and the other is a cuckoo maran. Any idea which is which? The bottom one has a lot more black on her beak, darker black on her legs, and a lot more white feathers.

I have a mixed flock of everything! We've had this rooster a few years now, and no matter what you breed him to, it looks exactly like the mother, not a mix. He's been mated with OEGBs, D'uccles ect, I thought he could be a Marans ( or something like that ) but that's about all I can think of. Thanks
