I'd be grateful with either but I live within city boundaries which only allows us three hens, so I know my neighbor (rude) would call on a rooster. I believe she's a pullet too and think she's just doing her noisy puberty thing. Thank you for your opinion! :)
Tell us what it is later on...

Hello -- I have a 15 week old speckled sussex that I thought was a hen but then today I noticed some long feathers coming out of her rear end! Is "she" really a "he" ? I have not heard any crowing sounds, and her comb looks very small and pale... so I'm holding out hope but those tail feathers worry me!
Cockrel:saddle and hackle feathers

It's been two weeks since my last post of my chickens. I'm hoping now that they're a little older you could give me a little bit more insight on age, gender, & breed.

It looks like a pullet to me, both hackle and saddle feathers appear rounded, not pointed, and I too would expect a redder comb in a cockerel of that age.

Thank you!! What exactly are Easter Eggers? I'm sorry, I'm just trying to learn as much as possible. I always thought chickens were chickens. Now that we have some WOW there's a lot of different breeds. It's a whole new world.
Easter eggers are basically the ancestors of ameraucanas, they have no breed standard. So they technically aren't ameraucanas. They lay any color egg, usually green, but also blue, white, brown, and can have any feather pattern, black and brown is usually most common. I have three and they all look different!

Sorry I didn't answer your post sooner:oops:, @junebuggena gave an excellent explanation.

I have a 4 more chickens I'm not sure what breed they are. I was told they are americauna hens.
