Oh I always use way too much honey lol
You sound like me with a bottle of ranch.

Yeah I just got my test results back the other day and it scared me into changing so I’ve been working on it. What are some good substitutes for it? I honestly didn’t even think of using substitutes and instead have just been miserable and choking down stuff like grainy runny PB 😂🤣
No potato chips. They will raise your blood sugar almost as quickly as sugar. Start reading the nutrition labels and check the sugar amounts. Absolutely no soda pop that has sugar in it. Water is the best.

Bananas raise blood sugar quickly. Strawberries do not. Stevia or Sucralose are sugar substitutes.

Salad is fine. Meat is fine. Potatoes are pure carbohydrates. Carbohydrates convert easily to blood glucose.

Drink lots and lots of water. Decrease the total amount that you are eating. Exercise.

Thank you! This is all extremely helpful!! I am going to have to learn to like salad lol or maybe sautéed or steamed would be okay? I tend to like those better than raw.

I’m sad about potatoes though because they are some of my favorites especially sweet potatoes 😭 but thankfully not really a huge chip fan (although I did have a brief chip kick a few months ago) so I’d be okay cutting those out.

I currently mostly drink water anyway but do still occasionally have a soda so I need to be 110% strict about never having that again. Shouldn’t be too hard hopefully because it actually grosses me out whenever I do try to drink it now and I can’t finish it because it’s too sweet so I think it’s just a bad habit at this point rather than actually liking it so hopefully it will be easy to cut.

I’m usually pretty good about checking labels but either don’t follow it especially servings OR I don’t check every single item. Now I have been practicing checking every single thing and discovering some stuff has a LOT more sugar or fat than I had thought

So having to cut out a lot more than I thought. Butter is going to be a hard one.

The amounts are key because I have been exercising a lot lately but not losing and I believe that is because of what and how much I have been eating so that is the next thing to be adjusted. I’ve been trying to make small changes every day so I’m less miserable.

Personally I don't worry about fat at all. Sugar and things that turn to sugar easily are the only ones I pay attention to.

Unfortunately you are past the point where small changes are enough. Some things must immediately be dropped. Just cutting back on them won't work.

The quantity you eat has to immediately decrease. One way to curb hunger pangs is to fill up on water instead of food. Just keeping active can often take your mind off of food.

I normally wouldn’t worry about fat much either but unfortunately my liver numbers were high as well so I’m trying to fix those too 😭

I fear you’re right though and I’m guessing these things will need to be cut permanently? Which stinks but it is what it is I suppose.

I need to practice the water thing and the exercise thing. For me it’s weird because I get like kinda weak/sick if I don’t eat enough whether it’s portions or how often I eat or both but I think I just need to push through that and maybe it will even out on its own? Hopefully.

This is mostly mental. Exercise and stay hydrated. You will slowly get stronger.
