Dont we have a fish guy/gal?

I haven't ever gotten a defective pump myself, but it's certainly possible. You checked the little felt filter on the bottom? Sometimes if they get took dirty they don't pump well.

For the most part air pumps are considered disposable, so I don't think you can repair one. It is frustrating when you want something to work but it won't.

Make sure you keep extra heaters on hand. Those are known to stop working after a while, so it pays to have spares on hand so you aren't running to get one at odd hours.
The filter looks like cotton? Its brand new.
No, I dont have extra heaters. Thanks for the tip.

Yes, it's that little disk on the underside. I've never seen replacements sold. They do get black after a few years of use. I also keep a few extra air pumps. They are fairly cheap, at least the single hose ones.

Haha, no. Goldy was my one of my first and favorite chickens. I have peppered corys, neon tetras, harlequin rasboras, some lambchop rasboras (i think) that were marked as harlequin, a betta, tons of cherry shrimp.
:DIt was a good guess anyway. LOL I cant keep neons. Guess they dont like my water.

well seems I have 3 extra now . And I cant get them to work. I will take this one back and try a name brand. I dont think this one is.

Only reason I am really wanting to use it is because of those babies. I have a knee high stocking over the filter intake and it cuts flow down. I wonder if they are old /strong enough to take that off yet ?

If they can be sucked through the intake opening than it's best to keep it covered. That being said I never covered mine, but I would check the filter daily to see if anyone was in there.
