Dosage for Enrofloxacin for a 4lb hen

Just to add more to the confusion. I went to a seminar last month and one of the topics was backyard chickens. The vet giving the lecture said Baytril was a NO NO. And no longer recommended.

This is true, it's banned for use in poultry, but it's such a good drug that many vets still prescribe it even though they aren't supposed to. Of course it's super easy to get without a prescription.

Yes, I know it's easy to get. However, I always am cautious of drugs manufactured in another country. Vet and I discussed this and revealed many of these compounds have additional ingredients or lacking what the label describes. She was definitely cautious about using Baytril on chickens handled by young children or immune compromised folks.

Yeah, I'm a little paranoid about buying drugs from other countries but have been okay so far. :fl
