Dosage for Oxytetracycline???? **NEW VIDEOS OF SICK CHICKENS ADDED PLEASE HELP**

Before I would try using oxine this way I would want to see it documented by a vet. No offense to anyone that's tried it, I'd just wanna see more than posts on various forums/websites.

Yep that was my thought too..... I'd seen people talk about it, but I would rather know it was tested by a vet or something more official than hearsay, wasnt sure if maybe you had more info!!

so a shot of oxytetracycline stopped all the congestion and snotty nose? because ill do that instead of water soluble. do they sell that at the feed store

does oxytetracycline injectable comeour self in liquid form or must you mix it your self
It did clear mine up . I would search it on this site. I got mine at tsc. I would think that any feed store would have it. Do a search with your symptoms and oxytetracycline . This will give you dosage amounts and how many days you need to inject it into the breast. When you search, make sure your symptoms match the ones that have used it. I think mine was call terra vet 200. I think I injected it for seven days straight rotating sides of breast. Seems like I used one half ml each day.

Hi, I too didn't have an exact chicken or rabbit vet. But my vet was willing to treat them anyways. If he tells u he would just be guessing...tell him to go and read his vet Manuel. We have an awesome vet out here in Hays KS and he has always been willing to work on our rabbits, gguinea pigs and chickens. He has saved them every time! I love my chickens they are part of our family. They are extremely tame and 4 will land on my arms at once. Yes, II have spent 100s of hours with them. But to the point, she can go down hill and die pretty dam fast without proper antibiotics Baytril is a wonder drug for our beloved small animals. I wouldn't waste any time if she means a lot to you. Your vet will probably even send home syringes with the correct dose. Small animals including chickens can't take being sick . Too long. Also if she's real congested even though she won't feel like it pull her out of her little petporter and make her walk around a bit too help that fluid to get moving out of her lungs so it doesn't turn into pneumonia. She needs extra TLC right now and if she's inside and hopefully isolated from the others she will feel your love and it definitely makes a difference on her recovery. I hope this helps good luck and I hope she gets well and makes a full recovery. Oh and u shouldn't have to treat the whole flock just isolate the sick one for atleast. 5 days so the antibiotics can do their job. Good luck!
