I have two broody silkie hens. 9 eggs under them. Their hatch date is the 26th.

How will this work? Will they share the chicks, or split them, or what? Are there any dangers I should be warned about? I have never had double broodies before and don't know what to think.

I just had 4 broodies at one time. They all stayed on their own nest and raised all the chicks together.

I know not every flock is harmonious. Some broodies will fight over the chicks causing injuries or even death of the chicks.

You can put them in their own areas separated or keep them together. Just keep an eye on them when hatching time comes.

I would look for aggressiveness towards each other or jealousy (stealing another’s chicks or harming the others chicks). If that starts to happen, I would separate them immediately.
