Dragon Fruit growing advice?

Middle of Kansas
So I've been growing this plant for the better part of two years and the only thing I'm sure of is that it's in the dragon fruit family. My question is about pruning. The last set of vertical branches grew really thin because of the transition from Texas to Kansas and I'm wondering if they'll thicken up to support bigger branches in the future or if I should just trim them off to allow for new growth of the right size.

Yeah, that is dragon fruit. I think it will be ok, you'll need to support the trunk very well no matter how thick it is anyway. I've seen people use a tomato cage when growing in pots. Mine I top at about 4-5 feet so it produces side shoots. Once the branches hang down, those are the ones that flower.

Yea, I need better support for it I think. I'm going to buy or build a bigger pot and repot it with permanent support in the middle. For now, I ended up making cuttings from the skinny vertical branches. 2 more babies to join my little dragon fruit lineage.

Cuttings have been planted! Along with all the other ones in the house that needed it. Are the roots from the dragon fruit branches supposed to cling to a support or reach the soil?
