Hi DAS,
Thankyou for your help, but I did not meant to force people to send me photoes, I had asked members nicely and I been patient in waiting for replies.
I had been used google and been online, but after few past years of using google, I gave up trying to find photoes of open wings of adult male black-shouldered peafowl, until I found BackYardChickens.com which is more helpful. I did not owned peafowls, but I studied moults of peafowls for over 10 past years, the moults of peafowls are still poorly known and need lots of studying & datas. There are nothing in google about moults of peafowls.
Orange primaries of black-shouldered peafowl, have black fringles / tips, but I had not had photoes of open wings of male adult black-shouldered peafowl.
I been to Auckland Zoo to look for male adult black-shouldered peafowl, but the bird were dead and I were few years too late, and I asked the female zookeeper nicely, about peafowls, but she told me there are no black-shouldered peafowls in zoo. I emailed USA peafowl breeders, but after a week, I heard nothing from them.

It is not a simple matter of taking pictures and giving them to you. I like helping people if I can and would give you the pictures if I had them. Unfortunately peafowl are too wild and do not sit still with their wings open waiting for their picture to be taken. The peafowl has to be caught which is always a risk of injury to the bird and even death (they can fly straight up and break their necks very easily). Because of this peafowl owners do not handle their birds unless absolutely necessary. Even then I am always scared of my peafowl hurting themselves trying to get away and would hate it if one of my birds were killed because I tried to catch him for something so simple as a picture.

Photoing the peafowls means members have to be very patient and spend more time with peafowls. Peafowls sunning themselves with wing fully opened wings, or peafowls spread the wing open, after waking and during preening, this happen during between 10am and 4pm when peafowls are not walking, looking for foods.
Being patient and spead more time with peafowls are much better and nice than have to catch the peafowls. It is not necessary to chasing & catch the peafowls.
Some peafowls can be tame & approachable. You have to be patient with peafowls.

Minx were a very patient girl and she were very lucky to photoed her white-plumaged female black-shouldered peafowl "Ice" as "Ice" were laying on ground, sunning itself with fully open wing in sun during early afternoon, and had close-up photoes of her peafowls, because she spend much more time with her peafowls.

I am willing to wait patiently for next few months until members photo the open wings of adult male black-shouldered peafowls that are sunning themselves.

I think also since you are new to this forum, many people are uneasy about allowing someone to have a copy of a photo because there are many people out there that use it as their own. Once people get to know you better you may get more responses. I've been on this forum for a long time and can post something and still not get an answer. A lot goes on here and some things get over looked or believe it or not someone might not have what you are looking for...... I don't ask for anything from anyone...except maybe for them to keep me in their prayers when things are bad. I never expect anything from anyone..... but their are many many nice people on here.


Mini, I hope all your peafowl are safe and doing well. I am now moving into my new farm..... neighbor informed me about the bear and panthers they see....... thank goodness I have 6 Great Pyrenees dogs on guard and lots of hotwire.

Lol sorry guys I was in Orlando with the youthgroup. We went to Islands of Adventure and I didn't want to leave...If only I had those beautiful plants that I saw in the Jurassic Park area in my backyard...Or a butterbeer machine...At least I got a wand.

Okay so anyways thanks clinton9 for the apology I was gone so I couldn't read it I appreciate your help...Also thanks to everyone for the numerous nice words, and there hasn't been any trouble with predators plus Dragon lives on in a pied peachick! Ice hatched out three peachicks and one looks pied so go check out that topic!

I really needed that trip it has me overly happy right now...Just wish I had the camera with me!

EDIT: Darn I knew I was forgetting something, Chickenzoo good luck on your new farm I hope the move is easy and you don't have much trouble with the predators.

I just read this and couldn't stop crying.

A couple of weeks ago, my little sweet Mowgli, was killed by the neighbor's Rottweiler. She used to follow me through the yard, into the house where we would sit and watch TV or eat popcorn on the couch. She never made messes on my couch. She wasn't a beautiful peacock but a little Partridge Cochin Bantam.
We came home on a Saturday night, went to put close the coop up since they are free range but go to a coop to sleep at night. I couldn't find her. I searched everywhere. I looked along the fence line and found a few feathers on the other side of the fence where Roxie lives. Mowgli must have tried to roost on the wrong side of the fence. Roxie tore her apart and all I found was feathers. The next morning, I got up and looked for her body. I found only one foot and part of a wing. I had to fight off Roxie to just take what was left of my sweet little girl. We buried her next to the fence by the coop and planted a purple butterfly bush over her so that her other feathered friends could chase after the butterflies that would fly there. She was so wonderful that I still feel guilty for not making sure the fence was high enough or being there to stop her from flying over. I clipped all of their wings to avoid it but she would climb the fence at the gate to get to me. I would see her outside the sliding glass door looking in.

I miss her so much. I know you miss Dragon as well.

I know how you must be hurting and I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you and I hope your peahen hatches a little replica of him for you. Kiss Peep for us.
