OyVey!!!
I'm not generally squeamish, but this almost has me gagging with skin crawling.
...and another good reason not to have ducks.
So, infection following injury?
Ducks penis is only for reproduction, not for urination?
They can live fine with it amputated?
Sorry for 'off' topic @Xxxdoombunny .
Thanks.
Could it retract before infection is cleared and infect the 'inside' of him?
<shudders> Poor Dude.
Thanks for the read, I think this is slightly different, being a repeat prolapse issue. Turns out mine had an infection from an injury. Hope it doesn't have to go the amputation route.Have you read this case story on PoultryDVM about a duck with this same issue, and how it was fixed? http://www.duckdvm.com/cases/johnny
Good point. I reached out to check. I wonder since I've got ask that out of it, if it's ok to reinsert the phallus or not. I'll ask them that too.Just had a thought... Since a vet was helping you, you might wanna email the pictures and ask if you should start some antibiotics.
