drake prolapse

Poor boy at least he has a good nurse caring for him :hugs
Yeah... Thanks. :)

Unfortunately, it's starting to darken and dry up. Just a few days ago it seemed healthy, but I don't think it's going to heal up on it's own. :( Is it absolutely necessary to get it removed if it starts turning black or gets infected?

Wondering how your prolapse guy is doing?

Sorry guys -- I never got the notifications.

Half of it turned black and it was just dead tissue. The rest seemed healthy and that part went back in with the dead part still hanging out. So today I just took some scissors and cut it off. It bled a little, but he didn't act like it hurt. The rest of it went back in and it looks normal now. :) I'm so glad I just decided to be brave instead of taking him to the vet and getting a $100 vet bill...
