I realized that...I'm used to Ducks and was not thinking Chicks..Although it might be resting?...It's different with chickens.They go a lot faster than ducks. I've hatched both, and a chick stopping while zipping for three hours is never good.

Still watching!! It’s started zipping back the other way. I see the beak now and it’s coming back through the pip and apparently gonna work the other way? It seems active so I’m gonna watch it for now! Thanks for all advice!

What did you use to moisten?moistened the membrane
Get some coconut oil....or use neosporin or other AB ointment(without pain relief ingredient), it will stay moist, unlike water that will likely dry back out again.Drops of warm water
