dry skin on you

Homemade Burdock ointment here.

Takes about a month for the properties to fully transfer to the oil (I use organic olive), then I add it to some beeswax and melt. I use Lavender essential oil for fragrance. Lovely green colour.

I won't use most of the storebought creams because of the chemicals and harmful odors & colorants.

You'll have to make some with calendula too! I don't like store bought either. Most have parabens and such in them.

My skin is really dry (my legs look like snake skin) and I have Keratosis Pilaris (a genetic skin condition where karatin builds up around the hair follicles and my legs and arms get rough, reddish bumps all over). Living in the desert doesn't help.

Most lotions don't work long enough (a few hours at most). I like corn huskers, but I will definitely try the coconut oil!! Thanks!

I use Skin So Soft oils in my bath and they also have an after shower spray. I think it's from Avon. I also have Oil of Olay Quench lotion that I use now and then too, It's a bit pricey, so I don't use it often unless I want to smell extra nice for bed.

As far as chapped lips, I always have to use Carmex, nothing else heals them.

Jojoba on a wet wash cloth rubbed all over before getting out of the shower. Jojoba looks like an oil but is actually a plant wax that most closely resembles your skins own natural waxes and oils. Works very well has very little smell to it and doesnt leave your skin all ooky. On a side note I like to use that coconut oil in place of butter on toast, makes for a fragrant healthy butter substitute and works good on your skin from the inside out.

Skin so soft is awesome! I use it liberally after showering.

I love the way the Skin so Soft makes my skin feel, but I sure hate the smell of it, LOL! I use the blue one...or is it green....I think blue...

Everyone (ahem) loves the way I smell after using SSS (that would be Skin So Soft, not the other sss) but I found that my skin was dry again by the next morning.
Virgin Coconut oil resulted in about the same, but without the awesome smell.

Then I found this almost empty bottle of massage oil last night, applied after my shower ---- and it worked! My skin wasn't flaky the next morning!
It's called Alba kukui nut organic body oil, pricy stuff from Whole Foods if I do recall, can't remember when I got it! Might have even stole it from my mom
