hum i see what you mean, i forget chickens exist for eggs and meat, i think of them all as show birds, seeing as most/all of mine are. lol. But a d'uccle orpington size would be pretty cool.

It would trip you up with those foot feathers!

And you'd hurt yourself laughing at that big bird duck-walking across the lawn

And I couldn't fit as many of them in my breeding pens

No extra chicks this spring.
I purchased eggs from breeders all over the country. Trying to get a descent breeding flock of each color.
Hopefully if all goes well, I will have a good number of colors available spring of 2011.
I already had the mille fleurs and Brown reds. I do have hatching eggs available for those.

Gotcha. Guess I'll wait 'til next year for some of those...

I don't have the space to start a big breeding operation (yet), but I ordered black mottled d'uccle eggs and self-blue d'uccle eggs for my first incubation attempt recently, but only managed to hatch out one SB out of the bunch. I'm definitely going to try again though!

Hello all,
thanks for making this thread. I have 2 MF roos and 1 MF hen, not the best SQ. I dont sell eggs because she doesnt lay that much.
I was hoping to find some porcelians and golden necks. Hopefully my mom can afford them(cages cost a bit to make). I was hoping for a trio of both. My bator broke and we dont wanna buy a new one since we wont be hatching much, so i would need started birds or someone to hatch me some and send me a SQ trio out of the hatch.

Add GoldNecks to mine although I have none available yet...
And you can put my name, too: Lori Martin & email addy is my BYC name @charter.net

Also, I think all the mottled breeders would rather have 'mottled's rather than 'molted'.
