Does anyone know if anyone in the US has ever bred some of the more rare colors that are shown on the feathersite page? Specifically, there are pics of Lemon/Citroen mille fleur, a "silver" mille fleur, "silver porcelain" mille fleur, "mahogany" mille fleur, and even a cuckoo variety (!) that I'd LOVE to see in person somewhere (and maybe even get some for myself!). According to the captions, many of these are from France. (Maybe there's a trip en francais in my future, eh?)
For the record, about a third of the pics on that page are of booted bantams (NOT bearded d'Uccles), and the labeling of the colors is a bit variable...
Also, does anyone know much about d'Uccle genetics? I'm assuming, perhaps erroneously, that you can cross some of the more unusual booted bantam or d'Anvers color strains with d'Uccles to get a line of d'Uccles of that color type. Is this true?
My black mottled and self blue eggs are on their way... I'm so excited!
