Definitely smaller than silkies. D'Uccles are ridiculously small. About the same as a dove.So I know a few of you have silkies (perhaps satins as well) along with your duccles...size wise are they about the same or are the duccles a little larger?
I wish I had neighbors like yours. All I got was threatening letters and texts (which went ignored, as there's nothing they can do anyway).Talked to the neighbors today about Tuff’s crowing (it’s getting more frequent and I felt terrible about it) and they said word for word, “What crowing? I don’t know what you’re talking about. Have you HEARD our kids outside?”
Puts my mind at ease now that I know they don’t mind Tuff Tuff’s song of his people![]()
We have a bantam Light Brahma (still a baby), glad to hear how sweet they are! Still trying to find buffs locally before I cancel my McMurrays order and might go LF, but I just love the bitty thingsD’Uccles are smaller than my normal sized silkiesI have two runt silkies and I think they’re slightly larger than the d’Uccles. Here’s a picture or two for reference.
Yeah bantam buff Brahmas are tough to find! I put a bid on some hatching eggs but probably won’t rebid if they outbid me….for nowWe have a bantam Light Brahma (still a baby), glad to hear how sweet they are! I was afraid of this (well, still am) although one neighbor tells me no one is going to care, and that she can't wait for my roos to start crowing. I'm hoping being in the coop til 8 will keep them calm. They're 16 weeks this weekend. My polish crowed a few times when he was scared a few weeks back, but nothing since. My silkie roo just chit chats.I wish I had neighbors like yours. All I got was threatening letters and texts (which went ignored, as there's nothing they can do anyway).
You know you will![]()

I hope you get lucky! My hens are lots more obnoxious than my roosters haha. Once they get going the whole flock joins in! Little Dude, my Olandsk Dwarf rooster, is inside a DARK Eglu Cube and still crows loud and proud every morning!I was afraid of this (well, still am) although one neighbor tells me no one is going to care, and that she can't wait for my roos to start crowing.
