One of my D'Uccles went broody. She's a screaming ball of fury. It just so happens that I have eggs in the incubator, so if she's still broody in 2 weeks, I'll give her the chicks to raise.

yes, Im sure she's not laying. I think she may be confused, she is acting like a rooster, coming to look for feed when I come, and then clucking loudly to show she's found something good. Just like a rooster. But she was only one of 4 and I know she is a female, although she did not develop quite the same or on the same timeline ... maybe she has both genders? maybe that is why she can't lay an egg? Ive been hoping she is just a late bloomer but.... maybe she will be eggless

Can you post a picture? I've heard some people add blue food coloring to the vent to see who's laying.

Well unfortunately a snake must have found it's way into my grow out coop and killed Crimson. Didn't eat him though..

I'm pretty upset about it. I always say why couldn't it be an extra roo.. It's always a hen or favorite it seems.

The baby d’Uccles got to be outside finally and today I let them field trip outside their coop for a bit. It’s so cute because they still came over to sit with me for part of it! and Millie came to say hi!
