My porcelain girls hatched some chicks
They started in a pigeon nest up high. I figured I’d have to get the chicks down, but I’m guessing the jumped! One girl is still on the nest. I haven’t even checked to see how many eggs they had. Lol!

Unfortunately, that evening I found the hens had deserted the chicks on the ground, so I scooped them up and brought them inside. I find these chicks to not be very hardy for the first few days, so I’ll try giving them back to the hens next week. Five chicks so far.

Has anyone noticed d’uccle chicks never lay down?? They are always standing!

Mine did sleep, under the silkie chicks!! Funny, Minnie, my fav chicken, still tries to get her full size self underneath Elsa, my grumpy bantam cochin.. makes her so mad
