D'uccle Thread

Can anyone tell me whether these are gonna be roos or pullets? And what color they may end up being? Supposed to be about 3 weeks old. D'uccle Bantam mixes of some sort.
Thanks!!

Chick 1

Chick 2

Chick 3

Also if anyone can tell me why just the one chick has dark colored legs, and the other two don't. Chick 1 has the dark legs. Here's a close up of her/him

Thanks!!
I agree with flockofbantams, these are silkie mixes. Silkies have 5 toes and black skin. These chicks look just like silkie chicks except for the comb.

Just hopping into this thread as I recently got into D'uccles. My cousin had Mille Fleurs and I got 4 juveniles and 1 chick from him. I've only had silkies before so it's been fun with the MF. They seem to make different sounds than silkies, though they all sing the sleepy song at night which I love. Here's a pic of the chick I got, she is 3 weeks old.

Congrates!!!!! Welcome to the d'uccle family!!!!! Rita is beautiful!!! I can't wait to see her fuller grown and feathered!! :)

I have two pair of 4 week old porcelain for sale in Blue Ridge GA.

If only I lived closer! Lol I really just need a few more girls though, as I only have the 1 pair I just got. LOVE them!!! And the little cockerels crow is HILARIOUS!

Sometimes I think the same thing when I look at pictures, but also some really ARE pretty big or pretty small.  That don't help any does it?
I have some what I consider small pullets and I bought a chick rooster, he turned out a nice bird but way bigger than I want to use.
There is a standard....and if you want to breed to standard, [which I DO] you and I both need to buy a small scale to keep the weight correct.
Feathers can be deceiving..you need the weight.  Hope this helps some.

A little. Lol Mine are 5 months old. The lady said the are SQ, but I wouldn't know the difference, so who knows. Lol I'm not sure how old they get before full grown, so they may grow a bit more. But they r pretty small! I can almost wrap 1 hand all the way around them each. So cute!

Day 13: Brownie is still broody UGH!

The D'uccle is these pics look sooo big, compared to mine! I'm wondering is it just the pic, or is something wrong with mine?!?? Lol Could someone take a pic with a reference for size by chance plz? That would be awesomeness.

I found a small postal scale that weighs from 2 oz to 86 lbs, on e-bay for 15.00, probably can find cheaper too. I am bidding on it.
Now all I have to do is find the standard for whatever breed I question and weigh the little wiggly things!
