D'uccle Thread

So sad. My Porcelain Roo was killed yesterday by some of the LF Roosters

He was my absolute favorite chicken in the coop and was getting really friendly with me. There are some of the MF hens eggs in the bator, so i hope he was the roo that covered them and i can get some of his genes, he was a beautiful boy.

@chickenman5024 on this thread sells Mille Fleur Eggs, i dont know who else on the thread does currently.

He took his birds to the Fort Worth Show recently and placed with several.

Misfitmorgan - so sorry ! My hens never had issues with LF - but my little roos always stayed out of the way - never challenging ....

I'll have millie flur eggs - but not for a while - I just put my breeder roo in with the hens and separated them to a breeder pen .... I'm in Vermont - so it is still too early in the season for hatching eggs right now.

The hens seem to be fine and i never saw the LF Roos picking on my Porcelain Roo but i guess they must have been. He never had any pulled feathers though...like a month ago he had a bloody toe but i though that was from getting his toe nail caught on something not the LF Roos. Just sad he is gone.

I know - D'uccles can be so sweet tempered ... and the pc color is lovely.

I hope you get some of his babies hatching out !

I just found a flock of Mille Fleurs for sale the other day here in CT and I jumped on it. They were decent. I bought a roo and 4 hens. A couple are pretty nice so I figured I would keep the 2 best. She wouldn't sell me just 2. She needed them all gone. I have 3 roos total now so I'll make a trio available to anyone interested. The one roo and 2 hens. In CT.
