D'uccle Thread

Hey everyone, thought I'd stop by.

I won't be getting any D'uccles anymore, unfortunately, but hope that you all are doing well.

Cyn, will you be breeding them?

And Renee, he is adorable. Yep, adorable.

Thanks so much! And thanks, Cyn!

I hate that parting-with-friends-because-they-are-no-longer-useful feeling I get when I do this... I try really had to find great homes for them. Little stinker must know it, too, because he wouldn't stay off my shoulder today when I was in the coop.

Renee, I know what you mean. I haven't sold or rehomed many adult birds, but I hate that hit-in-the-gut feeling when they're leaving.

Nick, I don't plan to breed D'Uccles at this time. I may not even keep these, just depends. I want to watch them grow up and see how I like them before I decide, though. They're still quite skittish, but getting better. I want to hear Beau crow, LOL.

You're welcome, Renee! Hope he finds a good home. So D'uccles are a sweet-tempered breed, for the most part?

Cyn, yeah, I get it. Crowing says all... LOL. With your upcoming March hatch you'll have plenty like them, anyway.

Cyn just give em to me in May and you can call here everyday and hear Spike and Napoleon crow.

I will buy them from you if you do not want to keep them. Chy misses her Milles so much.

Renee he sure is handsome...Wish you had a girlie to go with. Do you still have BBS Orps?

This is a stupid question, As I've bragged (sorry *L*) about our new munchkins is it usual for one to be sending out this long chirp while sitting on the edge of the egg carton? Then have 2 of them sparing? Please someone tell me that all chicks "spar".

Hey all, I just posted another auction for my MF D'uccle eggs. They are laying almost an egg a day each and I can't keep up with them all. I did purchase a Brinsea Octagon Eco finally, I had been fighting with myself for weeks as to get one or not but I decided to just do it. My LG styrofoam was good, but I want something that I don't have to have 3 thermometers in and worry about it 24/7. If any of you are looking for some good quality mille fleurs, you can find them here. Not SQ yet, as I haven't shown them but that's my next goal in life, to get awards. Went to the county fair yesterday and there was a D'uccle roo with wattles! I wanted to write on the ticket that it was a booted bantam, but did not. Disheartening that people, even those showing, just don't know the difference. We've gotta promote the breed as much as possible. If you have questions on my eggs, ask me! Have a good day everyone.

-Nathan
