i like the color but i wouldnt breed her. bad foot feathering and a very small almost absent beard. hopfully she will get more beard and foot feathers in.

I agree. She does have an exeptional color pattern to her. Yet is lacking in the beard/muff, and foot feathers. You can breed her though. BUT if you plan to get nice birds from them, the use of an outstanding male is a must. Select their best chicks and continue the process. Otherwise, if bred to an average male ,she will just make more of the same, average d'uccles where those 2 feather issues are concerned.

look on pages 391 the last post this looks to be a very good pair and what i am looking for and page 398 the 1st post for good foot feathering.

different people have different opions as to what they are looking for in their chickens. if you are planning on breeding for show i would suggest talking to more people on this forum and the d'uccle breeders database fourm and get in touch to a breeder who shows. if you are just wanting pet quilty you can order more from a hatchery, which is were i might be getting more self blues from. again it all depends on what you are wanting to do with your chickens as far as breeding wise goes. i just wouldnt breed her to any good d'uccles since i am wanting better feathering and all mine, except my self blues beard/muff, have great feathering. i would however get dome from a hatchery and breed her as pet quility
