How many are there, Lori?

There were acually 10 in that picture. One is flipped onto it's back while mom was stomping mad about me taking baby pictures, just behind her hock. Mama proved to be a very good girl despite being a first-time mom!

WeGotChickens, that is too cut!!!!! My D'Uccles go broody every so often, but only for a day or two at a time. They sure are mean though for that 48 hours, pecking and screeching if you get anywhere near them. I am kind of glad that they don't stick with it:)

I sure wish mine would only go broody for 48 hours!!!

It's almost show season and all the best hens want to go broody. In one respect, they posture well when broody, strutting and showing off. But the flip side of the coin is that their condition is rough after spending days/weeks on a nest, not eating or drinking enough to stay in top form. I fling my broodies out into the runs every day to make sure they at least take a break, and that still doesn't stop them from being broody. I have 5 broody hens and one tending chicks at this very moment.

I enjoy my Mille Fleur's. I was given a porcelain D'Uccles about a week ago and resold him and a Mille pullet, but I was curious to know what coloring they would produce. Any ideas? My children love the girls and want to hold them every chance they get. Here's a pic of Boogie, our MF rooster with his MF ladies & a mixed hen.

It's my understanding porcelain plus millie will make more millie, if you breed back to porcelain with those "kids" you can get another porcelain........(If i'm wrong i'm sure i will be corrected)
