D'uccle Thread

depends on what they white is covering up. Recessive white is just a mask covering the true color underneath. In d'anvers that I have it's usually just over black, so it's breeds just like you are breeding to a black bird. I bet it's the same in d'uccles.
if so you will get blacks split for mottled, rec. white , and will carry buff columbian. when you back cross those chicks you will get black mottled, and more millies, and a possible buff columbian or two if they dont get the mottled gene.

Being yall have dominate white in d'uccles from the presence of goldnecks, there is an outside chance you may have a solid dominate white bird, very slim chance, but it's there. If so you'll be working on just goldnecks in the long run, well those and white tailed buff columbians. but all that would be in the second generation due to the fact that mottling is recessive.

Hope that may have helped a bit. You'll know right off if you get any white chicks. If you do, it's dominate white, if they are all black, it's recessive white...
Thanks!

So if she is recessive white, I'll get what color chicks?

What will I get from a self blue roo and a Mille fleur hen? Or a black mottled roo crossed with a Mille hen?
Hello seems like I just saw you. I don't think he is a self blue, more of a Blue Mille, Over the Mille you could get Blue Mille's and Mille's. Now black mottled over the Mille, can result in Blue Mille, Mille, Black Mottled and you could get a Blue Mottled, I've had all from that combo before I separated all by variety. How are the kids settling in?

We have babies hatching today! :) My daughter put 14 of her mille fleur eggs in the incubator. So far we have 3 hatched. Don't you love those tiny feathered legs?
