D'uccle Thread

I am going to work hard at it this winter and spring I want a winner. It's the wing bars that will be the hardest I think. The drawings of the bird shows perfection, but I've never seen it. I think it is due to the hatchery birds out there. I have a boy I showed at nationals and he looks like a LF compared to other birds. He is getting sold. The new pair I bought are nice and small

So I put my extras on Craigslist. Priced at $10 for a roo and $25 a pair. If you were in my area and looking to buy would you pay that for these guys? I've never sold anything that way before. I want to separate my breeds and don't have room for all of them. Selling two pair would leave me with 1 cockerel and 4 pullets. I also have 10 eggs in my friends incubator.

Yes that is normally how I would sell them. I did pay 40$ a pair for my 2 pair of Mille's I bought at Ohio Nationals. I will be selling my extra's for 20$ a bird at the Dixie Classic's

I have extra D'uccle roos for sale - a mottled and a porcelain. They are 5 weeks old, and $3 each. Green Bay, WI. You can see my ad in the classified section!

My momma silkie hatched out 4 chicks. 1 black silkie, 1 white silkie and silkie/mille de fleur crosses. Here they are. They look alike with the two black dots but one is a lighter tan and one is more of a dark tan. They are so cute and energetic.

Haven't been on here in forever! Not since I sold my D'Uccles. But I have decided to sell all of my Phoenixes (not sure what to about my name now) & get back into Bantams. I will most likely get D'Uccles again. But I'm not sure which breed would be best for really hot summers and really cold winters.

I live in Ohio and my d'Uccles do fine. In the winter they have coop and run covered with plastic and tarps, no heat.

These guys will have to be separated from the coop since all our other birds are LF, we have about 70 birds, and they have a mostly tarped pen and a warm doghouse full of straw. Think that will be fine? My other had that pen but i didnt have them in the winter.
