D'uccle Thread

I can tell u about the milles, the hen doesn't have enough beard-too long of a neck. I know she's stretching but still too long:( the roo has too much black unfortunately. There's some good qualities, I don't mean to only state the bad. I like the porcelains though. Maybe could use more foot feathering but that could always come with good foot care and age:) worth a shot to breed and see what they throw

Thank you!
I have noticed the Millies long neck. Thanks for your opinion!

This is Millie, she loves to be held by me. She is really sweet.
She's also one of the smallest chickens we have and she's also
at the bottom of the pecking order.

Here is her again about a year ago.

Hello fellow D'uccle lovers! It's been awhile since I posted on this thread, been busy getting ready for christmas.
Anyways, just wanted to know what you thought of my D'uccles? Or is it still to early to tell?

I have two porcelain pullets but I couldn't get pictures of them, I'll take some tomorrow.
Way too early to really tell. Wait until fully mature and then put them in a show. Best way EVER to understand what you have and how good they are: by comparing to other birds.

Did you get your birds from Meyers? I ask because I ordered mille fleurs from them and all my millies have the same concentration of color on their tales as yours. in fact, some of those feathers are coming in pure white. I also got a reg millie that shows black in the columbian pattern, then shows a pale gray/tan in between the buff. I might have guessed it was a blue millie except for the black columbian restricted feathers.

I got them from our feed store, and they order their chicks from Belt hatchery. I have to say, they sell some good quality chicks for being hatchery quality.
