D'uccle Thread

I was interested in some critique. I got this guy with a few hens. If what I'm reading is right, the waddles are a dq for show. Is he worth keeping as a breeder, or should I look for another rooster? Thanks! Side note he's very timid and won't hold still for a photo and pose at the same time, sigh.
waddles are not DQ...small to no wattles are preferred. On a side note his color seems very light...he would be perfect for the lemon and pumpkin D'uccle projects though.

my first hatch of the year and first d'uccle. it was hatched by a broody silkie. it is from my pen that emphasizes the mottled pattern and the father has feathering on all of his toes, look at the close up of the feet and you can see this little one inherited well.

Nice I have 35 D'uccle eggs in the bator
About ten a from my mille fleurs that I showed at Fort Worth and all the rest are from mille fleur hens and a porcilan roo

Very cute and very nice feathering Paris!!

i had a little black cochin born with feathers on all his toes too, i was so excited. Until 3 days later i found him no longer with us, the bigger chicks had wedged him between the wall of the brooder and the saftey mesh that holds the heat lamp up, i think he got to hot or just go to smooshed, he was only about 1/3 the size of the other chicks who hatched the same day. i changed the brooder since then.

Quick question. We have 21 free range chickens. 4 rooster and 17 hens. The roosters are all bantams- a salmon faverolle, a cochin, a polish and a mille fleur duccle.

They all get along great. The polish and the D'uccle rooster are low men on the totem pole.

Every bird has been hand raised and arw as sweet as pie except the little big man-our duccle.

He started attacking people legs about 2 months ago. We assumed it was because they were wearing bright red boots. But now he just attacks randomly. We all laugh about it because it feels like a soft kick. But when you look down you see this little s*it all puffed up staring at you.he will follow you and when you turn to look at him he pretends to walk away.

People started to kick him as he just wont stop and he annoys them. We doubt he will do any damage as he is very small and weighs maybe 2 lbs...

Does anyone have any suggestions on getting him to stop. Once you are able to catch him he is sweet as pie....

Its really bad that we laugh about it, but it is funny seeing this little bird trying to act tough..

Here he is..
