D'uccle Thread

When I was hatching last year from my trio I noticed my chicks did much better with a vitamin supplement in their water for the first week. Good luck I'm working on my flock too and would also appreciate good advice from more experienced d'uccle rearers =)

I had a beautiful show quality porcelain roo for my girls but know I have to wait for my chicks to come and grow one out because I sold his sons =/ this picture doesn't want to embed =/ so I'll try Again later.

Just out of curiosity, how hard is it to find homes for bantam roosters like d'Uccles? I've had a rough time finding homes for my LF roosters, and I'm wondering if it's going to be a nightmare to find homes for the little bantam roos, perhaps people will be less likely to want one protecting their flock or just around a farm? Maybe that's not the case. (in my dream world I would not have to find homes for them because I'd have a little rooster colony, but unfortunately right now my neighbors are not up for that)

Sorry for always asking so many questions and not having any answers for anyone yet!

I have been lucky and always find a buyer for my d'uccle roos. Just don't ask too much

I haven't had trouble finding homes for mine either. They are pretty little roosters and more people are getting into bantams nowadays. They are definitely easier to find homes for than LF.

Ahh, that's good to hear, thank you! I never put my little roos up for much money, just enough to weed out people who aren't going to care for them. I don't breed (mainly because I can't, as my neighbors complain about my very legal roosters and then the township serves me with a "noise" complaint) so I just am looking to rehome my pets, really. I'm hoping I'm wrong, because today if I had to guess I'd say that 3 out of 4 of these little guys were cockerels, based on their behavior. I have my fingers crossed for a better percentage of pullets.

Oh, that would be terrible! I'm glad my neighbors don't mind my roosters, I don't know how I could part with them. :'(
Fingers crossed for more than one pullet.

Wouldn't it be easier to post pics of the actual birds instead of having people guess? Have you tried to posting pics yet? If your having trouble I'm sure there is someone that would help you.

I understand it would definitely be easier and trust me I would have. It wasn't a all or nothing type option for giving some insight.. I was just up to my elbows in treating them that I didn't take pics and then after dark I started looking at pics and thought I'd just throw the question out there.
