Wait you said "Spring Show Sales" and "Fall Show Sales" so your gunna sell your birds at the shows?

each month i plan on hatching a minimum of 12 eggs and im gunna cull heavy and keep the best.

Yes, I sell at shows. I hard cull for defects after hatch, then pick the ones I consider top of the line. The rest are decent and I'll sell them because I want to promote the breed and showing in my area.
I also sell adults that I am 'retiring' for whatever reason. I will keep my 'old' MF rooster, Tennessee, to the end of his days but am less sentimental about most of the others.

Check out my little project babies:

Thanks, I do too. It takes me hours to tend them each day because I just stop and stare at them, watching them move and interact.

I plan to collect business cards or contact info for all the d'Uccle folks I meet.
Maybe I can even get some to join BYC and help us with our projects!

Did any of you think my roo is ok for the porcelain D's? I am so reading everything and would love eggs to hatch for a better spring summer project. I too am so excited that the nice people raise D'uccles- ha ha !!!!

His comb is kind of a funky shape and not sure on the points, but as said earlier you can breed out of that with the right hens.
Are you getting porcelain girls for him, or breeding to the mf's?

Hard to see how his tail & foot featehrs look in the pics. Color looks okay though.

Awe yeah, it necessary. I will probably have D'uccles up the wazzo! Im lucky my grow out pen is HUGE! lol, and it has a covered run!

You are lucky!
I live in a subdivision on an almost acre lot, and I'm grateful my neighbors are so tolerant of my birds!

My grow-out pen has a roofed area but is mostly open, so I have to streamline before winter really hits and watch my bird numbers when doing winter brooding. Otherwise I'd have d'Uccles out the wazoo, too.

I already have babies out the wazoo and mine are still laying like it's no ones business. I can't believe how great these girls are with their laying. It is rare that I have a one or no egg day and I only have 3 layers.
