So would that be a result of breeding two dilute(blue) birds .. I also had a 'splash' from this same bunch .. a hawk got her..

Now I have a question for y'all...

I have a MF pullet out of my MF hen and porc roo. She's about 5 mos now and fully feathered, etc. She tends to hold her feet up a lot... she doesn't quite limp, but seems to not want to put them down. She seems to favor both feet evenly, and I've checked her thoroughly for any injuries or anything, and treated everyone for leg mites (using vaseline a couple of times, spread out over a couple of weeks). Her dad used to do this too, but that was before I thought to treat for scaly leg mites.

I've thought that maybe it just feels weird for her as all of her foot feathers are growing in and making standing feel different...? Does anyone else's d'uccles do this? She's the first I've raised from baby-hood (though the SB cockerel I had didn't do it). Thoughts?

Here are some updated pics of ZZ. He is my only d'Uccle and has 3 Silkie girlfriends. He is such a sweetie. He and the Silkies live in the baby coop with fifteen 7 & 8 week olds. ZZ never bothers the babies and even lets them roost with him at night. He is now 30 weeks old.

Chickenonthehill- wow, he is a handsome buddy! Wow, and still so young, bet he will be a looker when his 2nd year feathers come in.

Mrs. Fluffy Puffy & Gypsylion - Thanks for the compliments. I got him from a fellow BYCer back in the early summer. I wish I could remember her name!

She lived only about 45 minutes from me so I was able to go and pick him up. You should see the birds she has!

He is the star of a color project that I plan to start in the spring with my Faverolles.
