The PO finally got me my eggs. My incubator is still only at 97.5 w/ good humidity. Should I wait until it gets to 99 before setting?

If it was me, I'd get the temp regulated first. The temp will drop when you put the eggs in till they are all up to the same internal temp as the bator and if you try to adjust it at that point, you may over-adjust and bring it too high. Is it circulated air? Can't recall if you said.

Its a Brinsea. Holds temp really well, has circulated air. Hatched the Serama in there.

I get more air traffic over my house here than when I lived ON the base.

I swear, they almost fly through my livingroom! I'm afraid one will crash into Watson mountain one day, which is the main mtn I see from my deck. It's about 400 ft higher than I am here.

Aubrey, I just hope your porcelains are laying well at that time. If not, we'll go with MF D'Anvers to fill in. I'm getting some BRs from William and he will have a new rooster on Feb 19 who has to pass blood tests before he puts him with the hens, so it will be probably March 14th for the ship date for all my eggs. I'm really looking forward to these little guys! They're so different from anything I've ever had.

Carolyn, I'd get it adjusted upward a tad before putting the eggs in. Shouldn't take long at all, I'd think.

So, how many days were they in transit, Carolyn? Crossing fingers that some of them hatch. They may surprise you.

That's 7 days, shipped. Ask Aubrey, they did that with one of his shipments to me. However, I did have a very decent hatch, believe it or not. I say thow them in bator when your tems are good, just like SpeckledHen said. Wait and dont candle till day 5-7! Another thing with D's that I have found out, they actually like, and seem to hatch better (FOR ME) when the humidity is a bit higher thru entire process. I dont get wet chicks, I hatch strong babies who just pop outta the shell this way. But like I said, that's ME, here in SW MO

What is your normal humidity set at? I hatched the Serama at 45% and 65% at lockdown. They like it more humid as well. Does that sound about right? My house is so darn dry that was my best attempt at more humidity, but it worked great for the Serama.
