D'uccle Thread

Well, I'm still very surprised at how large nest boxes are for these little birds. I guess I'll make mine 12 x 12 and keep it low to the ground, maybe put the roost above it. Thanks for all your help folks

Mrs. Fluffy Puffy :

I have 2 Porcelain D'uccle Hens, and my rooster is a "Lemon" something...I'll try to get a pic sometime. Any ideas on what the Off-Spring would look like?

I'd love to see pics of your kido's

Especially the "Lemon" you spoke of. Where did your stock come from, IF you dont mind my asking? If that's not something you feel like sharing, then feel free to just

me outta the way.

AC, CP and WGC...how are those chicks looking? I just culled 8 chicks today, all around 8wks old due to lack of foot feathering. Sucked because one was a lil lavender mott gal

Perfect type, great beard, but middle toe feathering didnt show anything except a "few sparce" sheaths/shafts. Pretty girl but I cant keep them all ya know.

Would love to see/hear updates on how things are going with you ladies.

Doug, any eggs yet??

GC..quick update as I head out of town or the weekend. Toe feathering continues to look great! Little yellow baby also has good bear/muff. Black baby still a bit sparse in the beard department. Eating peeping and pooping. All is well.

I got both my D'uccle hens from Murry McMurry Hatchery a few years back. The roo...a hen hatched him out so I don't know where he sprang from?

I'm WAY late finding this thread, but I wanted to show off my boy too!

"Little Rooster Man" is a Lavender (Self-Blue) D'Uccle almost 2 years old.
He takes great care of his 10 girls and is a lap chicken too! I am completely in love with him!

GC, my 3 are doing okay. Moved them to the coop brooder, so it's been a while since I've gotten a close look at them.
Hate it when you have to cull over toe feathers, especially a good color with all other attributes.

I am taking 6 birds to Newnan this afternoon, for tomorrow's show. And 8 to sell.
I hated grabbing up PartiBoy to sell....

He's soooo handsome! Love that boy!

Hey, when do you see your D'Uccle roosters starting to crow? Beau is 9, going on 10, weeks old and nothing yet. Keep waiting for that first squeaky crow from him.

It varies. I have an 8 week old goldneck boy that gave me a squeaky crow when I loaded him into the sale cage last night.
