D'uccle Thread

Thanks! If the foot feathers were better on the blue gals I'd try to breed the read out.
The little guy is definitely not a butterscotch. I've had them and he has silvery tones, not golden. The sunshine is what made him look that way in the photo, but the ones with the flash washed out too much.

My poor mille fluer boy is lonely

He doesn't even crow anymore.

Carolyn, I am working on a color page of my own for the golden neck - - it is a work in progress, but you are welcome to view what I have so far here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/web/viewblog.php?id=12029-duccles-goldenneck

I
do not have lemons, but I will also be working on a butterscotch page since I have many more pics of those too. Hope that helps.

Absolutely gorgeous! I am trying to breed bantam Cochins to look like that. Didn't know the d'Uccle came in that variety, too. Very beautiful!

Nadine, if you pair buff bantam cochin with a golden-neck d'Uccle that has nice mottling, you should get 50% buff mottled cochin crosses you could use, and breed them back to buffs to retain the cochin build, etc. etc. They would be just lovely!! An easier project than MF cochins, and just as beautiful.

ShelleyD, that is terribly sad. Why don't you find him a nice lady? I had a fella like that, and I put one of my cull hens with him. He is quite the happy little newlywed gentleman now.

I 'gave' him one of the d'uccle/OEGB mixed girls. I was hoping to sell him with the others, but I guess since I didn't have him in a 'group' no one wanted him
