Where did you get them from?

Oh, I got them from a feed store that gets a mix of bantam chicks from one of the hatcheries. The person at the store was really sure they were Mille Fleurs ... but then as they got bigger I also noticed they had pea combs instead of single, and I started searching the hatchery mixed bantam groups and couldn't find anything else that looked like them. I'm only getting my chicks from breeders now, since I've had 4 different chicks now be something else ... good things but not what I was planning on - LOL! My favorite was that the SLW ended up being a Cuckoo Maran and my EE ended up being a SLW! I did "really" want a Mille Fleur D'Uccle ... but I love my little Buff Brahma Bantams now, so

Just no idea why one is a micro mini! I think my smaller one might end up a blue buff because of the blue ends on many of her feathers.

They look similer to MF D'uccles, but Pea combs are a dead give-away. lol

Can you post a picture of this bird?
I don't know what chart you're referring to, but feathersite has a lot of d'Uccle photos: http://www.feathersite.com/Poultry/CGK/Millies/BRKMilleFleur.html

Good
luck to everyone who is hatching right now!!!

I may've gotten my first millie egg yesterday. Not sure, since it's a gal who's in with the broody silkies.... But the TX millies were making nests as if they were thinking about laying me some eggs

They were scoping out the floor, of course. Not the nice nest boxes that they used last fall

I was sick all weekend, so of course it was gorgeous weather

I did get the new brooders installed (with DH's help, of course!) so now all the current chicks have more room to play. The littler ones were very uncertain at first, but by yesterday afternoon were launching themselves around the new space and flying their little hearts out. Now I need some movable roosts for the little darlings.

I don't have a pic of her, she belongs to my friend and I didn't think to make a picture when I was there. But I did find the color on Feathersite, she is called mahogany. I'm still searching for the chart. I thought I found it here but it must have been another site. If I find it again, I will post the link. It was nice to see a picture instead of just reading the color description.

Very pretty...I found a Mahogany Millie Fleur Roo on Feathersite. Looks similar to Speckled Sussex. I hope your friend can get us a picture!

I finally hatched another lavender from my project x project birds. That makes 2 out of 20-something chicks. Most of them are black with a touch of color, red on some, white on others. Both of these lavender chicks have down on every toe!
fl.gif
that this is a sign of awesome future foot feathers!!

White x lavender produced black chicks with a bit of white. But 3 out of 4 were cockerals and had poor foot feathers and TERRIBLE shoulder feathering
