Thank you Lori, Cyn and Aubrey.....I will take my time and get some nice porcelains as well as hopefully some lavenders from the project birds from Lori.

I am incubating d'uccle eggs from ChooksChick starting on Saturday so it is going to be fun but I do miss my little buddy Spike.

YAHOOOO I am so happy I checked out this thread. I bought two of these from the feedstore. I have been trying to find out what they are. Gorgeous chickens. Here is a photo of one of them..

so yes you can get solid lavender from porcleains, breed them to blacks....you'll get all blacks to start. spilt to mottled and lavender, breed those back to each other and a few should come out just lavender, some will be lavender split to mottled, ans some will be lavender mottled. Being so many variables and recessive genes involved it will be a shot in the dark, but if you breed a lot of them, some should come out solid lavender for you.

Now breed those lavenders back to each other, you will usually get a mix of lavender and lavender mottled now.

the ones who come out solid lavender will now breed true for you, so will the mottled if you chose to continue with them
