Yes! JoBeth is gorgeous!! If she were mine I'd be keeping her to enter into the shows this fall. How are her feathers on the middle toe? It was kinda of hard to tell....

Yup. I do let mine run around the yard, too. Which means they aren't in perfect condition. I find it sad that you have to choose between letting them be natural or letting them be show, and that to get top marks you have to sequester them and not let them really be chickens. This means I won't win as many shows, but I will have happier birds. I have decided I can live with that.

In the last open show I was the only exhibitor with d'Uccles. So I got my birds ranked instead of really winning. It was interesting to me because the females KICKED the boy's butts in every category. So I will be replacing a lot of roosters in the future but I am on the right track with the gals.

Wonderful news, Lori...You have some super nice kids so hang on to them. I'm slowly progressing on my "Silver" program as well as the Lemon/Citron group. Finally had a silver columbian pullet born, so she will go with Sterling and see what happens there.

I like to let mine free range as well. I have 12x20 pens set up outside for my 'ranging' thats all clover and grass (yard, lol). Total cover, top to bottem, BUT even with MOWING, feet feathers still get a bit 'disturbed'.

Well I Hope everyone is doing well. LOVE the great pics! Take care ...

Misty

She has middle toe feathering, yes, but I'm not sure how much of that is great and how much is just okay with this breed. I'm not into showing at all, but it's nice to see that a hatchery girl can actually be of decent quality! A friend of mine wants the trio so they are going to live in luxury about an hour south of me in Dahlonega.

Wanted to share some new pics of my girls....

And my little "white" girl that hatched from eggs delivered in the snow storm in Jan. She is about 4 months old and not exactly white...but we love her just the same.

Okay...here are the boys too, siblings to the top two girls....

They all look great Cp. The birchen chick in 1st pic looks rooish to me. 2nd pic, pullet. The others have nice blue coloration

how are feet? The "wht" chick is an actual SPLASH chick, such as in Cochins, Faverolles, or any other breed. She will not show the splash color till she'a around 6mos old, then you'll slowly see color coming in. Either blue or Lavender Splash...I have more LS hens than any other variation of this pattern. Hope all is well with you. Thanks for the pics...Take care, stay in touch.
PS. The one roo looks to be a true BBR, but maybe BBB's can help with that? Aubrey, wanna give it a whirle? I've hatched a couple of these and am letting them grow out to be 110% sure.

Blessings,
Misty

Here's My Mille Fleur cockerel, Nugget...he's looking for a home..he's 7 weeks old...just took these about an hour ago~up until a week or so ago, I thought he was going to end up being a buff columbian..then BAM spots started to appear. He was in with a couple of other chicks, one of which liked to pluck his toe feathers, they have since been seperated and his toe feathers are coming back in

He found this piece of brick and was having a blast jumping on and off of it, wish it would have had a better background behind him. dang it. I did try to move so that it was a better background showing behind him, but then he moved on to other things.
