D'uccle Thread

I have two Mille girls I obtained from the Ohio Nationals. The 2 girls will stir up some genes in this group. They will go with Mr. Boots. I will put the Porcelain girl with a Porcelain boy and the girls hatched from the test group. Here is the only Mille Boy I got from the test group and he's sorta colorful

I got lucky Out of the 8 I hatched only 2 are boys that I can tell for sure.

Hello, I wanted to see what you all would think about my porcelain d'Uccles. Good and bad comments are appreciated, I was just curious to what you all would say about them and what they lack or have that's good. They ARE hatchery quality and I got them from Cackle hatchery at the end of July(2011). I do not plan to breed them but noticed that some people do breed hatchery quality d'Uccles. I got them to be pets and to be in my free range flock, I had no intentions to breed them, but got the idea from seeing people that do breed hatchery d'Uccles and also they have AWESOME personality's and are so sweet. So I'm looking for comments to see if they're good enough quality to breed or not, trust me you won't upset me so please tell the truth about them

. Like I said I don't plan to breed them but if they're good enough I will. Oh, and they do free range so some of their feet feathers are dirty and broken off. In my opinion I think their feet feathers could be better but they all have middle toe feathers, their pattern lacks white in my opinion, and I think their beards could be fuller.

Thanks!!!

over all they look good. could use a bit of foot feathering work on the middle toes.
for the rooster i would try and get rid of the little wattles and he needs a bit of a fuller beard (a little wattle is ok but since he's not full grown they might get bigger)
if you look at my avatar thats blue boy my self blue from ideal over all hes great but he has wattles that i need to breed out of his line and he needs a fuller beard and thats it

.Can't wait for the pullets to start laying, their faces are starting to get red. Its going to be great to hatch out some of their chicks.

That cherub face in the first photo is what me fall in love with d'Uccles!!! I just have to kiss them all over their faces and throats when they look that cute! Some of mine do not mind it, others .....not too happy about it.

Your roosters wattles are fine! They can't be totally gone, and yours are small and tight. His pattern isn't even and I can't see hie feet, but his comb and wattles are nice!
One of your girls has good foot feathers, the other... not so much. But not bare, either. Breed them and see what you get. Show them and see how they compare to other d'Uccles in your area. The one pullet may do well. The roo probably not, based on color, but might if there is poor competition.

Thanks and the second foot photo is my cockerel's foot. I think my other pullets feet are like the one in the first foot photo, but I'm not sure and will have to check tomorrow. Its hard to tell the two pullets apart because they look alike to me but I think the one in the first photo is one and the one in the second photo is the other lol.

I have one that will fly up onto my back but she doesn't like it if I pick her up, I also have another that will fly up onto my shoulder or arm and will just sit there as I go around and fill up all the feeders. It was hard to get pictures because they all kept running towards me and I'd try to back up to get a good shot(didn't work) then I just couldn't resist and just had to cuddle some! That cockerel in the photo thinks hes all big and bad. I have a 12 week old orpington cockerel and when I introduced him and his lady to the flock the d'Uccle cockerel chased him out of the coop

, just wait till he grows up

. Lol its funny when the little d'uccle pullets and the bigger pullets have a little fight and its always the d'Uccle pullet that's running the other one off!

My other bigger roosters are fine to the little d'Uccles though and they all get along with the flock, well usually until the pullets cause some drama.

Looking for some comments on my Roo! When I picked him up he was supposed to be a she, He came out of a pretty bad situation. He was in with at least 30 standard chickens about 7 of them Adult Roo's he was pretty beaten up along with the 2 banty cochin girls! The three were the only banty's. He also didn't crow until he was 8 months, His son posted earlier named Aunry is taking after him. he is 6 months and still has not crowed.
Positive and Negative Comments welcome! I would like to know what kind of Girls I should breed him too!
