Do you have too many ducks?

Hey guys! Sorry to interrupt, but I thought I could let you guys know how my ducklings from back in October/November are doing now. As for the mystery feed store trio, I actually ended up with them all being Rouen ducks, two females and one male. That really couldn’t have been more perfect, as I have my Saxony trio with the same ratio…. I’ll send some pics down below. Also, I still have my Khaki group and my two Runner girls as well.
The pic outside is a little dark and hard to see them, but it’s been snowy and cloudy for days.

Gorgeous ducks! What is that little white duck with the blue/grey body? She is adorable 💜 Love your duck houses!!!

Who says ducks don’t roost? :D
They do when boys are trying to “love” them too much. Lol

And this poor girl was getting a little extra loving too, so I grabbed her away from the group of boys, and she happily sat on my lap for a whole minute!

Adorable girls that are smart! My Aztec hens are roosters (hah! See what I did there? 🤣). They love to hang out on the rim of those black rubber feed bowls

Oh my! She is a stunner! That's one of the prettiest I've seen. What is her color called? She almost doesn't look real. Is she laying?
Thanks. I’m honestly not sure what color she is. I’ll have to get some better pics and ask Pyxis. :D
I believe she is probably laying, most of her siblings are, I just haven’t discovered where yet. I found a couple eggs today between an old coop and the fence. I’m trying to figure out who laid them.

Thanks! The little white duck with grey spots is one of my two runners that I hatched at the same time I received my other babies. They are both females and I’ve yet to name the two of them, the other one is the blue one at the end of the pic. I need to think of some good names for all those babies in pic, since they will all be staying as my breeders.

Everything here is poison except for peas. 🙄
I offered Faith some tiny chunks of apple and that duck went a bit crazy. She wouldn't let anyone else have any. She should have been named Mikey because she'll try anything! (This reference might be confusing for the younger generations) She's like a little trashcan sometimes. The other ducks come over looking all sweet and curious, like 'ooohhh, whatcha got?' and Faith gets annoyed with them, vibrating head and all 🤬 'nothing for you! Go on now, get outta here!'.

I've noticed this with Honey Boo Boo too. She gets angry at me if I don't offer to her first. After years of trying to get them to eat mealworms or anything else that wasn't alive and/or squirming, I tried dried black soldier fly larvae and all of my ducks love them (well, except for Diva, and her name is well deserved). If Honey Boo Boo happens upon me giving them out, she does the vibrating head thing running up to my shoulder. At first I thought that she was just really excited because she loves them, but she only does it if she's not offered the first handful. I do tell her that she's the 'Queen of the big ducks' in a loving way but she takes that ish seriously!!! She can be quite brutal to sweet little Tom over minnows.

Squirt lost another baby today. I found it outside the log house, apparently she brought it out sometime overnight. I went back on the camera replay and it happened while it was dark outside. :(

Itty bitty short bill on this one too. I can’t tell if it started to zip/rotate and died, but the head was on the wrong side. I tried to wash and dry it to see color better, but oh boy did it stink! Ugh.

I was able to check her eggs when I locked them up tonight. I lost count, but at least 3 looked viable still, a couple quitters which I removed, and a few new eggs that look about 7 days developed.
I left the developing ones, just in case the ready ones don’t hatch. But I don’t expect her to stick to the nest that long. She has already been sitting a long time. I’ll incubate those if she gives up, or if she leaves them when the early ones hatch.
