Duck Bedding/Waterers

I have sand down for bedding, but I plan on adding some straw for extra warmth during the winter. The sand seems to work well, but I have heard a lot of good things about flax bedding. I just haven’t been able to find it.

Where do you get it though? I'm in SE Iowa.......

My local feed store carries it, that's how I found it.

deep litter- oak leaves with pine shaving as the back up when I run out of oak and 4 inches of wood chips under. water is now on a platform topped with hardware cloth to contain the splash zone with the underneath shoveled out weekly. This year I will stock pile way more leaves. I may take my neighbor's leaves once they bag them and set them out for the truck.

Tried straw for the deep litter method when I ran out of oak before I swapped to pine shavings but in our humidity if it got wet it turned into a wet stinking mess underneath and went anaerobic and then the bumble foot happened.
