Duck breeders in wisconsin

I have 11 Muscovys. And cold it is ! I just got back in from checking on all the critters and giving the poor horses some more hay.. It is VERY frigid our there to say the least.

My ducks enjoyed the nice day up here to. They left the coop for the first time in forever! I love winter but for my babies I cant wait for spring!

Cold is not the word for it !! this is crazy.. my ducks will be locked in the coops with heat lamps for sure ! wish everyone well and good luck through this terrible cold !

Yeah, my ducks have about 8 inches of shavings to snuggle in. I just hope it's enough!! Going to be absolutely wicked out. Everyone stay safe!!

How did everyone's ducks fair in all that cold weather?

My three Rouens did well. We did give them half a bale of hay a few days before the cold snap. We give them hay for their bedding. We figured they would not go out in all the cold and snow. We often found them hunkered down in the snow.

Mine stay in there house all day long dont like the snow at all! Lol

With having the chickens and the rabbits I had to go and check on them every few hours. My three Rouens were always out in the yard in the snow. I was more worried that they were frozen in place. Had to go shoo them every 4 hours or so into their house. I have had a Pekin years ago get frozen in place for a few days before I realized his foot was frozen in place.
