Duck Bumblefoot - how long?

here she is as of today. The open wounds have healed well. The little bumble is almost 100% gone. We have 5 more days of the antibiotics. She is walking very well right now. Doesn’t show any signs of pain. From the been there done it folks, you think we might be done in 5 more days?
Sure looks a lot better. Not a vet, but there still looks like a lot of swelling in center toe. Can you compare the other foot?

maybe someone else can chime in.

Tonight I took thawed peas and poked with a nail and then little by little over about 8 of them I pumped the antibiotic in and she ate it up. Adds new meaning to easy peazy

this will so much better help me finish her meds. And I had her constant attention without having to hold her. She still hated her soak.

The other foot looks way different. There is a lot of swelling still

So happy that she is showing signs of improvement. Has she had her follow up with the vet yet? So many of us know how difficult it is to see them in pain and the frustrations that seem to go along with bumblefoot oftentimes. My ducks and Drake seem to take a while to warm back up to me once treatment is completed, but I'm sure she'll enjoy your company again in the future.

Im concerned there might be infection in there.

Did your vet prescribe any anti inflammatory medicine? Like metacam?

It could be that the toe is inflamed from being poked a bit, but as Miss Lydia asked, if it’s hard, it might be the infection. That darned stuff can spread quickly.

The swelling on the foot feels soft. It is mostly swelling at this point upward on the top part of the flipper part of her foot off the side of the middle knuckle. She is walking on it like normal now. Called the Vet and sent him photos- he ordered another 10 days (when this is finished) of antibiotic and five more days of the anti-inflammatory. So...not out of the woods yet. On a super sad note, my oldest chicken passed last night. She is the last of my original crew that got me into this in the first place. I have a Zmodo camera system in the coop. Reviewed it this morning and found the time last night she passed. She had been making a growling noise when breathing on the very hot days lately. She had a great day yesterday - and we had beautiful mild weather. But you could tell she was struggling when she passed to breath. Yesterday she was even playing keep away with Stripes - my duck here with the foot issue. Sorry for getting off topic on my own thread.

I'm sorry about your chicken, :hugs
I have an old EE that isn't doing well she is 8 this past April.

As for the bumble hopefully with all ya'll are doing things will be back to normal soon. She sure couldn't ask for better care.
