As of this morning.....Could be broken?????

tomorrow is the official current end to her meds - but...here is where we are. She is also totally wise to the peas so now I'm doing the jam, ram, and slam to push the meds. Hopefully I can reach the doc today and see if we need to keep the meds up or what....She shows NO signs of pain or discomfort - walking perfectly.

It’s looking a lot better! Even the one on the side.

Update. She is still on meds. The little tow infection is still about the same. The middle toe has gotten smaller. I’ll update pics again soon.
I’ve been silent here as I have been in the hospital all week. Been a tough one.

and as of this morning - The funny thing is, the bulk of the middle tow swelling is seen on the top of her foot. She is walking and acting totally normal - if you didn't see the swelling you'd never know at this point she had an issue.

My Rose had this going on recently. You could see a big lump on the side of the bone from the top but every time I tried to get anything out from the bottom it was like it was all good flesh :/ and she barely limped, if at all, after the bottom had healed some. IMG_20200507_193056.jpg

I let her back outside for a couple weeks and when it still hasn't gone away and I started bringing her back in for daily warm baths/soaks. Eventually I was able to slice the scab off and press on the lump from the top and pop it out. IMG_20200524_221312.jpg
I don't know if it was the passage of time, me being more insistent about the warm soaks, or me being more brave with the razor blade and forcing it out - maybe a combination of them all. But she's doing great now - wound healed nicely in under a week and she's been sitting on a big pile of eggs lately trying to become a mommy, lol.

WOW - dang...can you cover over and help me fix Stripes? She has not stopped getting the twice a day soak since this all started. I'm exhausted with this.

Miss Lydia - No Covid for me - almost wish it was...then it would be all over and done by now. Something else hit me and will be an ongoing issue unfortunately. I'm physically and emotionally, spent...and was praying I would come home to her having healed up. The Vet believes we just keep her on meds and soaks and it will resolve. But...DANG.

@McChics so sorry you are having health issues on top of all this. One of my ducks has the no scab not really getting better but not really getting worse toes as well. I just let him back out with the flock and keep checking hoping that eventually something will form so I can do the surgery like I did with the other duck. Hopefully that happens for you as well. I only did one round of antibiotics though. The limping has went away. Is Stripes still limping??
