How is the side toe looking?
It’s looking a lot better! Even the one on the side.tomorrow is the official current end to her meds - but...here is where we are. She is also totally wise to the peas so now I'm doing the jam, ram, and slam to push the meds. Hopefully I can reach the doc today and see if we need to keep the meds up or what....She shows NO signs of pain or discomfort - walking perfectly. View attachment 2206488
My Rose had this going on recently. You could see a big lump on the side of the bone from the top but every time I tried to get anything out from the bottom it was like it was all good flesh :/ and she barely limped, if at all, after the bottom had healed some.and as of this morning - The funny thing is, the bulk of the middle tow swelling is seen on the top of her foot. She is walking and acting totally normal - if you didn't see the swelling you'd never know at this point she had an issue.

I let her back outside for a couple weeks and when it still hasn't gone away and I started bringing her back in for daily warm baths/soaks. Eventually I was able to slice the scab off and press on the lump from the top and pop it out.View attachment 2218895
I don't know if it was the passage of time, me being more insistent about the warm soaks, or me being more brave with the razor blade and forcing it out - maybe a combination of them all. But she's doing great now - wound healed nicely in under a week and she's been sitting on a big pile of eggs lately trying to become a mommy, lol.
