Duck egg newly hatched need help

I was thinking the same thing.
Yup apparently it’s a chicken. i originally said it was a duck egg because my aunt bought a tray of duck eggs not chicken eggs. I was also confused... my cousin later sent me a better picture

Since it just hatched it won't need food and water right away but what do y'all feed chickens in the Philippines? It's going to need some type of chick feed tomorrow and a small lid or something shallow to drink water out of. Or do you know someone who raises chickens who can help this little one?

We actually raised chickens before but have no experience with new borns so we are having trouble with how to warm it properly especially without any of the supplies we need. There’s a normal chicken feed that can be bought but we are not sure if that will be open because of the covid lockdown. They currently only have rice in the house and they’re planning to give that first until they are able to acquire A proper feed. We do know someone but it would require us to travel (not that far but because of the current virus we are not allowed to go anywhere)

so we are really just trying to make the best out it. One of the forum members here messaged me and told me about this tip. Which is a sock that contains rice inside it. Then warm it using the microwave. As of the moment, the chick went quiet and is now sleeping beside it.

That's a great idea. So you do have some essentials.!! Just make sure it doesn't get to hot and burn the little one. I don't think rice is going to be too good for your little chick. It's won't be able to grind it up in it's gizzard. You can't even leave your home? we are allowed to go for essentials like feed and groceries and pharmacy.

Yup we are hoping the store that sells chick feed is open tomorrow. We can actually leave but it’s only one person per household and that requires a quarantine pass. Even if that’s the case only the marketplace is open and only a limited stores are allowed to open which is usually for human essential needs. And it’s not also the whole day that such stores are open. Only the pharmacy is open until curfew hours (which is 8pm) My family don’t also go out often because of the increasing infection cases these days. So yeah I hope we can buy chicken feed tomorrow. If I remember correctly there’s only one store that sells chicken feed near our area :(

That's a chicken, How warm is the room that they're in? They don't just hatch in room temperature, they need warmth around 99.5f to hatch.

Wait, if a chicken came out of their purchased duck eggs...

Doesn't that mean he got scammed, and whoever sold him the eggs sold him chicken eggs under the label of 'duck eggs'? And how long have they been selling this person 'duck' eggs, instead of duck eggs? I also noticed the beak looks triangular not like a duck bill. I have had to protect my parents from siblings scams all the time, but usually not big things. People really do stuff like this.

You won't believe how often people are in their own bubble and get scammed even by family members and friends. Its quite sad.

As a community we can help each other to protect each other from traps, or recovery from them.

I want to know how long this person has been selling you guys 'duck' eggs? How long has this been going on? This is kind of a big deal because duck eggs sell for way more than chicken eggs; anywhere from 3 times to 5 times the price easily.

Technically chick feed is just the bigger stuff ground up and in slightly different ratios, of more easily edible stuff.

You could duplicate this process with just a mortar and stone like people did when they used to make corn bread in the old days.

If you are in survival mode, you could probably use uncooked oats, ground peas, or like baby food mashed up cooked vegetables? (Can someone confirm this?) But uncooked oats are lower protein content than normal chick starter, so you can't do that long term, and probably should only do it a few days.
