Duck Emergency

It will be okay..if it is organic it should not be medicated...the organic I buy for my duckies is not medicated.

Give them some lettuce, spinach leaves or thawed frozen peas and a deep dish of water...take the box outside and they will call the other one to them...just put a top or something on it so they cannot jump out.

It will be alright...take a deep breath

Ducks can eat chick starter but they will need a little extra niacin. You can get that from cheap brewer's yeast tablets you get at Walmart. Just crush one and sprinkle it on the starter.

Thanks....I'm just so worried about them. Right now I've got them in a cat carrier with fabric over the door because they squeezed themselves through the wire and I spent 10 minutes under the bed trying to get them

Dying for an update... 15 minutes and I'm gasping for the latest ...

Has the third baby been found? Are they eating? What are they eating ... are they chasing the peas?

I'm staying tuned for more developments ...

Well right now they are with the chicks under the lamp sleeping...they did not like being put in the water dish I gave them XD they ran out quacking at me. They did eat a few of the peas, but mainly just pushed them around.

I'll be sure to put more updates up, and once I get my stupid computer to read my camera card, I'll get some pictures up here.

I wouldn't have them in the water unsupervised at this age. I am very slow to give them more than shallow water to drink and dunk their heads with. If they want to swim, I put them in the sink or tub or a dishtub and watch them like a hawk, then make sure they are dry and warm afterward. But, when I first started with ducks, it was much colder and I had lost baby ducklings who died when they got too wet from dumping their water overnight and just not being able to get dry. So, I am sure that I am over protective.

I love to give my babies boiled egg...they seem to really love it and it's good for them, too.

Have fun, relax and enjoy them!
