From what I have heard is TSC is using some sort of heating pads in those new brooders that is what I was getting at when I said maybe burns.

Ohhhh. So the burns could have happened in the brooders, and the aftermath is what were experiencing here. Poor babies!

They are, but they're heat plates so they're over the top of the chicks, so the ducks shouldn't be able to walk in them.

Duck feet are always cold...cause they don’t have

They actually aren't. The feet are warmish usually. If there's infection or inflammation, they are hot. If the skin is dying, like I expect is happening here, the dead skin will be cold.

They have a pretty dog cage with all the fluffy straw and shavings they desire. I’d like to find a vet but livestock vets don’t work on birds
