Duck has a problem!

I’d think they wouldn’t be the easiest to lay, I have had my Runners and Buffs lay some biggies like that. Ouch!

So she didn't lay yesterday and today is a huge egg... it does make me wonder if the egg after a skipped day is generally bigger, I know I don't get an egg a day from all my girls and size can vary...

My Call Hen started laying and huge eggs for a Call. I thought it was a double yolk. No, the yolk was huge. The shell is made to accommodate the size of the yolks. My Hen lays daily and the eggs are big. I'm thinking reproductive issues here. .. I won't hatch out her eggs unless they become a regular size...

Do you agree that she might have reproductive issues and I shouldn't hatch her eggs? I was planning to in the spring.

Well, I've been so busy with the new puppy today I've not been good about keeping up with my ducks and all the byc threads. I went out to them a few times today to make sure all was well and it was. Eva looks great and is back to her normal self. She was always the biggest and strongest of my old (2yr) ducks so it was a shock to see her be such a mess! I found an egg in the pool tonight while I was cleaning it so for the first time all 6 of my girls laid an egg!

Thanks everyone for all your help. I've learned a lot and next time I'll be prepared with latex gloves and vaseline to do a vaginal if need be!
