Duck Hatch-A-Long ~ Wanna Join?

Just picked up 5 more saxony ducklings from Holdereads to go with the 3 I hatched last week. Amazing how much they grow in 6 DAYS!! So far all seem to be getting along, eating, an drinking (nice to have olders show them how). Anyone had any problem mixing ducklings 6 days apart?? I sort of hatched to coincide with my order, worked fairly well. Aww duckies, now if I can get any calls to hatch. Hoping some of you all's luck will rub off, lol.

If you find out where my luck is hiding, and return it to me, I'll be happy to rub some off for ya! LOL I haven't exactly had much luck yet. Congrats on the ducklings....I sort of did the same thing and have 6 blue Runner ducklings coming from Metzer on Wednesday. I have one little Call that could possibly hatch right before they get here and I didn't want it to be lonely.

I want to join in!! I put a Dozen Cayuga eggs in on the 5th and I have more coming in tomorrow that are all surprise Duck Eggs. This is my first time hatching Duck eggs......I have hatched plenty of chicks. I also have Sebastopol eggs that I put in on the 5th. This will be a lot of fun!!!

I candled again and lost another. It's okay though, I'm getting down to my actual number of ducks that I want. I have 5 now remaining of my Saxony eggs. Hatch day is in 9 days on the 20th. So, that would make today day 19. Fingers and toes crossed. Due to some of the results here, I'm going with a slightly lower humidity so I don't have drowning before pip & zip.

I'm going to candle all of mine here in a bit when I put in the next batch. My little silkie Showgirl took the 5 eggs I gave her and tucked them up under her...sure hope she does a good job!

I have one little goosie out and the other one pipped. This shall conclude this week's hatching. Next batch locks down on Saturday. Just enough time to hopefully get one or two decent nights of sleep.

I candled all the mixed duck eggs from BHep, I took out two eggs, one white one and then one of the Lavender Muscovy eggs. I left the other 9, one more is iffy but I thought it best to leave it for now. The Magpies go into lockdown next week!!!

I candled and my poor lonely Call egg due the 17th has quit I think...

That was out of the first 20 eggs of the season. I have 9 viable eggs growing, due the 27th.
