Duck hatch help please

We have a brooder but no power.. sigh. My neighbors are going to help me attempt to stretch lots of extension cords to get it plugged in lol.. the membrane seems super dry. I can't see much even with a flash light..

Good, see if you can't get it plugged in. While you do that, maybe leave the egg wrapped in a damp, warm paper towel so that the towel is wrapped around the broken edges of a shell, but don't actually cover it's breathing hole.

Try a hot water bottle with towel to keep egg. Warm. Dry membrane spray warm water little at a time every half-hour to shell

Update: he has not taken a break from moving in what seems like forever! He was chirping loudly, but now almost seems to be frantically shaking his little beak and no noise just keep waiting??

I can see his bill is clear, so that's great. He can breathe.... so you can breathe....

Its a tough call, not knowing much details, but the egg looks really full, and the membrane looked drier in the first pic. I would chip some of the shell away from the fat end of the egg. Leave the membrane intact at first. Chip just the shell, maybe a quarter-sized piece, and dampen the membrane with your fingertip or a q-tip, dipped in water at first. We just want to take a look at the membrane to see how far along he is. See if you see any blood vessels. If there are still active blood vessels, you will need to STOP. Moisten the membrane with some Vaseline, or ointment like bacitracin (WITHOUT pain reliever), and put it back in the bator and wait. If the membrane is clear, then you can peel a little more away from around the bill and see if he is stuck, or at least get a better look at what is going on in there.
