Currently we only have one Cayuga but will be getting 1 or 2 more soon. I've got a 785 gallon in-ground pond that runs into our AP set up so keeping the water clean shouldn't be an issue. Housing the ducks is though. Right now Sojo goes in to sleep with the chickens at night and she sleeps up under the poop board in a nest she's settled out of the shavings. I'd prefer that she and the other ducks have a home of their own near the little pond. Can I just build a duck house up off the pond a little and they'll go in there at night or is there some certain way to build a duck friendly home?

Thank you for your help.

Duck friendly shelters can be simple, and they need to be very secure.

If you can get a copy of Storey's Guide to Raising Ducks, they have a nice drawing of a duck shelter.
